Teachers can use grades, portfolios, etc. to monitor student’s progress in the classroom. Several states are successfully utilizing instructionally strategies in their integration of technology into instruction. One example is Missouri’s eMINTS program, which focuses on innovative instructional processes, support elementary teacher to develop student-centered, and inquired-based instructional practices through multimedia and the computer technology (eMINTS 2002, p. 2). The results have revealed statistically differences in the performance of eMINTS students who participated in eMINTS classrooms have outperformed their peers in statewide math assessments administered through the Missouri Assessment Program to non-eMINTS students across an array of subject areas (ISTE, 2008, p.5). Based on views of various researchers, the equitable use of technology, and technology as learning tool, elementary, middle, and high school students should be required to use various technology tools to improve student achievement. Digital equity is a social justice goal that ensures all students have access to information and communication technologies for learning, regardless of socioeconomic status (SES) disability, language, race, or gender. Equitable access to technology is an aspect of the concern for digital equity. Between 1994 and 2002, classrooms have increased the usage of Internet from 2% to 89% (Judge, Puckett, Bell, 2006, p. 52).
